Description

Silver Mirrors – High Reflectivity in Visible & Near-Infrared Spectra

Description:

Silver Mirrors are protected metallic mirrors with a silver reflective layer, which offers higher reflectivity (>95%) in the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) spectrum compared to aluminum mirrors. A protective dielectric overcoat (SiO₂ or Al₂O₃) is applied to prevent tarnishing and improve mechanical durability, making them suitable for a wide range of reflective optical applications.

Materials:

BK7 / Borosilicate Glass: Cost-effective substrates for general imaging and lighting applications

Fused Silica: High thermal stability and laser damage resistance for laser systems

Key Features:

High reflectivity (>95%) in 400nm – 2000nm range

Protective overcoat to prevent tarnishing and scratching

Good thermal stability and low scatter

Cost-effective alternative to dielectric mirrors

Compatibility with a wide range of optical systems
