Description

Right Angle Prisms – 90°/180° Beam Folding & Image Inversion

Detailed Description:

Right Angle Prisms are the most common prism type, featuring a 90° angle and two 45° angles. They can fold a beam by 90° (using the hypotenuse as a reflective surface) or invert an image by 180° (using the two legs as reflective surfaces), making them ideal for beam steering, image rotation, and optical path folding.

Key Specifications:
  • Materials: BK7, H-K9L, Fused Silica, Sapphire
  • Size: 5mm – 200mm
  • Angle Tolerance: ±1′ ~ ±5′
  • Surface Quality: 40/20, 20/10, 10/5
  • Reflectivity: >98% (protected Al/Ag/Au coating)
  • Coating: Reflective coating on hypotenuse/legs, AR coating on input/output faces
  • Surface Figure: λ/4 @ 633nm

Applications:

Beam steering, image inversion, optical path folding, interferometers, laser systems, periscopes.
