Description

Spherical Mirrors – Apochromatic Focusing & Collimation for Precision Optics

Description:

Spherical Mirrors are reflective optical elements with a spherical surface profile, which focus or collimate light without introducing chromatic aberration (a critical advantage over refractive lenses). They are widely used in systems requiring broadband wavelength performance, such as telescopes, laser resonators, and interferometers, where color correction is challenging with lenses.

Materials:

BK7 / Borosilicate Glass: Low cost, good thermal stability for general applications

Fused Silica: Ultra-low thermal expansion, high laser damage threshold, ideal for high-power lasers and precision metrology

Zerodur® / ULE: Near-zero thermal expansion for ultra-stable astronomical and laboratory instruments

Key Parameters:

Diameter: 10mm – 300mm (custom sizes up to 500mm available)

Radius of Curvature (ROC): Customizable from 10mm to 5000mm

Surface Quality: 60/40 (commercial), 40/20 (precision), 20/10 (high precision), 10/5 (ultra-precision)

Surface Figure (Power): λ/4 @ 633nm (standard), λ/10 @ 633nm (precision), λ/20 @ 633nm (ultra-precision)

Coating Options:
