Description
Aluminum Mirrors – Cost-Effective Broadband Reflective Optics
Description:
Aluminum Mirrors are protected metallic mirrors with an aluminum reflective layer, which provides broadband reflectivity (>85%) across the ultraviolet (UV) to mid-infrared (MIR) spectrum (200nm – 10µm). A protective SiO₂ overcoat is applied to improve scratch resistance and prevent oxidation, making them a cost-effective choice for general-purpose reflective optical applications where high reflectivity is not critical.
Materials:
BK7 / Borosilicate Glass: Standard substrates for industrial and consumer applications
Float Glass: Ultra-cost-effective option for lighting and non-critical optical systems
Features:
Broadband reflectivity from UV to MIR
Protective SiO₂ overcoat for durability
Low cost and good mechanical stability
Easy to manufacture and integrate
Suitable for non-critical imaging and lighting applications
